On January 26, the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Integration of Transportation and Energy in Hunan Province. The policy sets phased targets: by 2027, to improve the deployment of charging and battery-swapping infrastructure for road and waterway transport and establish initial hydrogen supply capacity for transport applications; by 2035, to significantly enhance highway charging services, complete the rollout of LNG refueling stations, and fully operationalize key hydrogen corridors (Beijing–Guangzhou, Shanghai–Kunming, and Xuchang–Guangzhou). It outlines measures across planning, infrastructure development, renewable energy utilization, vehicle and vessel electrification/substitution, fuel supply chains, standards, and pilot projects. The focus is on scaling hydrogen applications in road freight, inland shipping, and green fuel supply—through building hydrogen corridors, deploying refueling stations, promoting hydrogen heavy-duty trucks and vessels, and developing integrated production–storage–transport–refueling systems—to advance transport–energy integration and support carbon peaking and neutrality goals.
