On March 24, the General Office of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the General Office of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEEC) jointly issued the Notice on Further Strengthening Highway Planning, Construction, and Environmental Impact Assessment to Promote Green and Low-Carbon Transformation and Development. The notice emphasizes enhancing environmental protection during highway construction, particularly in combating air pollution. Highway projects must adopt effective dust control and suppression measures to reduce dust emissions during construction, transportation, and storage, and strengthen pollution prevention in areas such as earth excavation/disposal sites, mixing plants, and material storage areas. Construction vehicles and non-road mobile machinery must meet emission standards, and projects with feasible conditions are encouraged to promote the use of new energy and clean energy vehicles and machinery. Regions with high climate change risks are encouraged to explore climate change adaptation assessments for highway projects to enhance climate resilience. View Details >
